17 January: Visit by Delegates from University of Groningen, Netherlands

SERDANG, January 17. Putra International Centre (i-PUTRA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has received an official delegation visit from University of Groningen, Netherlands today, to discuss cooperation opportunities with UPM.

The visit was led by Mr Tim Zwaagstra, Program Manager Southeast Asia, Department for International Strategy & Relations, University of Groningen. He hopes to recruit students from Malaysia and UPM especially to the University of Groningen for exchange programs in postgraduate studies.

Director of i-PUTRA UPM, Prof. Madya Dr. Zelina Zaiton Ibrahim, hopes that more Dutch students will take advantage of this collaborative initiative. Mobility coordinator from the Faculty of Economics and Management, Dr. Adilah Abd Razak is also present to ensure that the exchange program can be carried out in line with the faculties of both institutions.

"I believe that with the cooperation between UPM and Groningen University, not only the number of students from the Netherlands has increased but also attracted more UPM students to study exchange programs in the Netherlands," he said.

It is hoped that this collaboration will attract more students both institutions to undergo student exchange programs (mobility and research) as well as various internationalization opportunities.
