SERDANG, September 19. Putra International Center (i-PUTRA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has received an official delegation visit from Mejiro University, Japan today, to discuss cooperation opportunities with UPM.
The visit was led by Prof. Micah Box, from Department of English Language Studies, Graduate School of Language and Culture Studies, Mejiro University. He strongly encouraged Mejiro University students to undergo mobility programme at UPM.
"Malaysia has prestigious public institutions of higher learning, and UPM is a university that is often the primary choice of students from Japan to join a one (1) or two (2) semester mobility programme. The selection factor is not only because of the emphasis on learning offered world-class but also the diversity of languages and cultures in Malaysia,"he said.
Deputy Director of i-PUTRA UPM, Prof. Madya Dr. Noritah Omar, hopes that more students from the land of the rising sun will benefit from this MOU initiative.
"I believe, with the cooperation between UPM and Mejiro University, not only the number of inbound students but also researchers, lecturers and staff can also take the opportunity to undergo an inbound programme at UPM," he said.
It is hoped that this MOU collaboration will attract more UPM and Mejiro University students to undergo mobility programme at both institutions.
